Rugged roses cling along New England’s seaside cliffs, determinedly stubborn, delicately scented, and definitely prickly. During our three years of living on Aquidneck island up there, courtesy of the Navy, we discovered these amazing flowers. They’re indifferent to the salt spray, and possessed of a superlative rose scent. Cranky Yankee brings back the roar of the sea, the breathtaking views, and the roses blooming on the cliff.
